I am so happy to share with you our completed deck oasis! A few months ago I shared with you my deck vision board. I have been waiting for this all spring and was able to finish all of my deck projects before the 4th of July! We got to spend some quality time over the 4th with our family, eat good food, and the dogs sure enjoyed themselves! At the end I’ll let you know where I got everything and stay tuned in the coming weeks for the tutorials of the coffee table and “herb garden”! In the meantime, enjoy the pics! BEFORE: Here’s what the deck looked like at the beginning… AFTER: Here’s what the deck looks like now…
All-in-all I’m pretty pleased with how it turned out! It definitely has a lot more personality that’s for sure! And I’ve definitely been spending way more time outside enjoying it 🙂 I’m also excited because I only spent a couple hundred dollars this summer to finally complete the deck, which was a great money saver! We bought the grill and I made the patio sofas last fall and we already had our composite adirondack chairs and the glass table from a few years ago. So where did I get it everything?
- Patio sofas – find the tutorial here!
- Sofa cushions
- Pillows – I got these at Sam’s Club in a 2-pack for super cheap. We all know that these deals don’t last long though, and I can’t find them now. Here is something similar, as well as here, that is available in a variety of colors
- Outdoor Rug – again Sam’s Club for super cheap.
- Throw – I think I got this from the Christmas Tree shop, but here is a cozy one from Amazon!
- Fire bowl
- Coffee/Dining table
- Grill
- Deck Chairs
- Bistro table
I was going to make my own fire bowl, but I couldn’t pass on the good deal I got for the amount of time it would take me to create one myself. I was also planning on adding patio lights to pump up the ambiance, but it doesn’t get dark until 9-9:30 pm here, and if I have to work days, I’m already in bed trying to get to sleep – so maybe I’ll add it some time in the fall when it starts to get dark early! I also opted to not build the plant/drink stand with a paver top that was part of my original “plan“, as I didn’t want to overcrowd the deck. What do you think? If you’ve completed any projects this summer leave a comment below! P.S. Don’t forget to stay tuned for my tutorial on the coffee table convert and my little “herb garden”!
