Project Quarantine

Happy May 1st! It’s been quite awhile since I’ve written a post, and in that time the world has changed quite a bit. The last post I wrote was how a “Cluttered Life Lacks Clarity” back in February – before my 2 week vacation to Costa Rica and Covid-19 became a very real threat in the United States.

During the end of our vacation, the hubs and I were very much glued to the news as we were worried about flying back into the United States and wondering if we were going to have to quarantine before going back to work. A few days before we left, the first case of Covid-19 was diagnosed. It was a US citizen who flew into Costa Rica on the same day we did. While our vacation was absolutely amazing, we were a little nervous until we were safely back at home with the pups.

Since then, it’s been quite a whirlwind of uncertainty and figuring out the new normal. For the last 1.5 months the hospital I work for has been on lockdown. I’ve even had one week where I was able to work from home. The hub’s hours have been all over the place, as half of his week he has been reassigned to other duties. However I am so grateful that we have been able to continue to work and have remained healthy. My overall life hasn’t changed too drastically, however when I’m not working I have been doing a lot more baking. I am so grateful for all of the essential workers who are still going to work so we can have food on our tables, etc. as well as all the people who are staying home to flatten the curve, but may be sacrificing their paychecks in the process.

While this pandemic has been very unfortunate and has brought lots of uncertainty, death, and heartache to our society and around the world, I have welcomed the new perspective I have received. While slow, intentional living has always been about gratitude, mindfulness, and living in the present, I have even more appreciation for the little things in life. Every waking moment spet on this earth is a gift. I only hope we can continue to improve our world and environment for future generations to enjoy after we emerge out the other side.

I’ll keep this post short, but I wanted to give you guys an update as to what I’ve been up to. Next week I plan to lay out all of my ambitious summer projects I wish to complete this year, which will hopefully inspire you as well! And there are so many! As always I will be sharing with you all of my “how-to” instructions and “what-not-to-do’s” that I’ve learned with trial and error!

With many states starting to open back up, try and stay healthy my friends!
